How to Pay Your Hospital Bill

Artesia General Hospital’s Business Office is pleased to file insurance claims for our patients.  It is important for you to provide accurate and complete insurance information at the time of registration.

Depending on the services provided, you may receive one or more bills. For example, in addition to the hospital’s bill, you may receive a statement from other providers such as Radiologists, Pathologists, Nurse Anesthetists or Emergency Physicians.

Regardless of your health insurance carrier’s payment determination, you may be responsible for paying any costs that your insurance company does not cover.

To ensure accurate filing, please do the following:

  • Bring your driver’s license or a valid ID
  • Bring your current Insurance /Medicare/Medicaid Card
  • Bring your physician’s orders with you
  • Be prepared to pay your co-pay and deductibles

Pre-Registration

Pre-registration allows us to make better use of your time when you arrive for scheduled services. It also allows Artesia General Hospital to contact your insurance provider in advance of your appointment to ensure that appropriate pre-authorizations are obtained from the insurance company. This enables patients to receive the maximum benefit offered by their insurance company.

Payment Options

Artesia General Hospital provides numerous alternatives for patients to pay their outstanding debt.  These include but are not limited to, cash, personal check, money order, credit card (Master Card, Visa, Discover, and American Express) and short-term payment plans. Please review the information on financial assistance on this website, or contact financialcounseling@artesiageneral.com.

Billing Statements

As your healthcare provider, we are concerned not only with your physical well-being but also your peace of mind. Once you receive a medical bill from your healthcare provider, you will notice that it consists of multiple components including codes, descriptions, and prices. For many people, these billing statements can seem confusing. For questions about billing or your billing statement, call 575.748.3333 or 575.736.8427 for assistance.
