Our Staff

Joseph M. Martin, MD, FASAM is board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine and Preventative Medicine with a sub specialty in Addiction Medicine. He received his medical education from Texas Tech University HSC Lubbock and completed residency training in Family Medicine at East Tennessee State University. There he discovered his passion for Emergency Medicine and continued further residency training in El Paso, Texas. Dr. Martin pursued advanced training at UT Health San Antonio with a specific focus on addressing addiction and mental health concerns in patients in the prehospital, emergency department, inpatient and outpatient settings.

Dr. Martin is a member of the Clinical Faculty at UT Health San Antonio in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry (subdivision of Addiction Medicine) where he trains residents and works with patients.

In his free time he enjoys live music, travel, medical mission work, and this three dogs.
