In her own words
What inspires and motivates you to work in health care?
Ultimately, my desire to help people motivates me to work in health care. I grew up with my mother and aunt, who were both nurses. Their careers and passion helped to mold who I am today. Additionally, I was very fortunate to have support from my community, who helped put me through school. It is my honor to remain in my hometown and provide care to Eddy County.
What drew you to orthopedics?
Orthopedics is new for me as a specialty. It presented an opportunity to broaden my knowledge and acquire new skills. Orthopedics requires attention to detail and wide knowledge of joint anatomy.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding parts of my job is the knowledge that I can help improve quality of life. I look forward to getting to know patients, what they do for fun, and seeing the positive impact quality healthcare can bring.
What is something you want patients and their loved ones to know when it comes to Artesia General Hospital?

What is the most meaningful piece of feedback/advice you’ve received in your career?
Never stop learning and always remember to keep your patient at the center of care.

Honest, loyal, intelligent, and family oriented
What are your favorite things to do outside of work?
My favorite activities are definitely shooting sports (clay targets), camping, and cooking–especially with family and friends.
