Rm453 Prayer Ministry

The RM453 Prayer Ministry at Artesia General Hospital is a heartfelt spiritual support initiative. It brings daily prayer, compassionate presence, and emotional encouragement to hospital patients, their families, caregivers, and staff. This unique ministry operates in partnership with the hospital’s interfaith chaplaincy services. It helps to nurture body, mind, and spirit during times of illness, stress, and healing throughout the healthcare space.

What Is the RM453 Prayer Ministry?

RM453 Prayer Ministry at Artesia General Hospital.

RM453 Prayer Ministry was founded by Terry Todd. His personal journey through a severe COVID-19 hospitalization inspired the vision for prayer coverage.

After experiencing overwhelming peace and spiritual support while fighting for his life, Terry felt called to pray for the next person who would occupy his hospital room — Room 453 — and then for all rooms throughout the hospital.

“Within several days of leaving the hospital, I had the vision to pray for the next person in my room (Room #453)—and to expand prayer coverage over ALL out hospital patients—not only for their physical needs but also the spiritual needs for themselves, their family, their faith, their peace, and their joy,” says Terry.

This ministry brings focused, scriptural, and sincere intercessory prayer to every inpatient and operational area of AGH, believing that spiritual care is a vital component of holistic healing.

Connection with Artesia General Hospital Chaplaincy Services

Artesia General Hospital’s broader Chaplaincy Program is an interfaith volunteer clergy service that supports patients, families, and staff through prayer, worship, spiritual conversation, and pastoral care. Chaplains, including pastors, ministers, priests, and deacons, are trained and respond daily to spiritual needs. They can assist with connecting patients to their own faith leaders if desired as well.

The RM 453 Chaplaincy Program complements this by providing continuous prayer support by volunteers alongside the structured hospital chaplaincy team, offering an expanded prayer network for everyone in the healing environment.

AGH also maintains a Chapel that is available for patients and visitors seeking a quiet place for prayer and reflection.
