2025 Mill Levy Renewal

This is not a new tax—just a continuation of support for your hospital

What is the 2025 Mill Levy Renewal?

The 2025 mill levy that supports Artesia General Hospital is not a new tax, but a continuation of one that’s been in place since 1979. For more than four decades, this funding has been a vital part of keeping essential healthcare services available close to home.

The levy, set at $2.70 per $1,000 of net taxable property value within the Artesia Special Hospital District, plays a vital role in supporting high-quality care close to home. In a rural setting, this community investment helps ensure access to a full range of essential healthcare services for local residents. Many other New Mexico communities rely on similar mill levies to maintain their hospitals.

These funds are often used for critical needs like equipment upgrades, provider recruitment, and maintaining emergency services—ensuring that residents don’t have to travel hours for care.

In Artesia, the mill levy has helped AGH grow into a full-service hospital benefiting residents. Renewing this existing levy means continuing the healthcare stability generations have counted on—without raising taxes.
