At AGH, our Urogynecology team helps women who are experiencing pelvic-floor conditions, incontinence, pelvic pain, or gynecologic issues. We serve patients from Artesia, Carlsbad, Roswell, and the surrounding areas in southeast New Mexico, offering expert, compassionate care close to home.
Many women experience gynecologic problems and pelvic floor issues that they feel embarrassed about—such as accidental urine or bowel leakage (incontinence), pelvic pain, menstrual problems, endometriosis, and others. These issues happen more often than most people think; in fact, urinary incontinence affects about 50% of adult women. These common problems can be effectively treated with the help of the right expert.
Many urogynecological problems result from damage to the pelvic floor caused by childbirth, heavy lifting regularly, chronic coughing, severe constipation, or obesity. Following an appropriate evaluation, a range of treatment options may be recommended, including physical therapy, lifestyle modifications, medications, or surgical intervention.
