AGH proudly serves women in Artesia, Carlsbad, Roswell, and throughout southeast New Mexico—bringing expert pelvic floor and gynecologic care close to home.

Overview

Specialized pelvic floor & gynecologic care for women in Artesia, Carlsbad, Roswell & southeast New Mexico.

At AGH, our Urogynecology team helps women who are experiencing pelvic-floor conditions, incontinence, pelvic pain, or gynecologic issues. We serve patients from Artesia, Carlsbad, Roswell, and the surrounding areas in southeast New Mexico, offering expert, compassionate care close to home.

Many women experience gynecologic problems and pelvic floor issues that they feel embarrassed about—such as accidental urine or bowel leakage (incontinence), pelvic pain, menstrual problems, endometriosis, and others. These issues happen more often than most people think; in fact, urinary incontinence affects about 50% of adult women. These common problems can be effectively treated with the help of the right expert.

Many urogynecological problems result from damage to the pelvic floor caused by childbirth, heavy lifting regularly, chronic coughing, severe constipation, or obesity. Following an appropriate evaluation, a range of treatment options may be recommended, including physical therapy, lifestyle modifications, medications, or surgical intervention.

A coordinated, women-centered team

Led by Scott Beard, MD, FACOG, FPMRS—a board-certified urogynecologist with specialized training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery—our team works closely with you and your providers to create a personalized treatment plan. We partner with obstetrics/gynecology, imaging, physical therapy, and hospital services to deliver integrated care.

Conditions We Treat

  • Bladder incontinence and overactive bladder
  • Accidental bowel leakage
  • Pelvic organ prolapse (“dropped bladder”)
  • Chronic pelvic pain and vulvodynia
  • Gynecologic concerns: heavy or irregular bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts
  • Well-woman exams, menopause care, contraception counseling

Services and Procedures

  • Comprehensive evaluation of pelvic-floor disorders
  • Minimally invasive and reconstructive surgical options
  • Conservative therapies: lifestyle modification, physical therapy, pelvic-floor rehabilitation
  • Gynecologic services: contraception, fibroid management, endometriosis care, menopause support
  • Coordination with imaging, lab, and specialty care for seamless treatment

What to Expect

  1. Initial consultation: We review your symptoms, history, and perform a focused exam to understand your pelvic-floor or gynecologic concerns.
  2. Personalized care plan: Together, we discuss non-surgical and surgical options, your goals, and develop a treatment roadmap.
  3. Ongoing support & follow-up: Whether you move forward with therapy or surgery, our team supports your recovery, monitors progress, and coordinates with your regular care providers.

Frequently Asked Questions

You’re not alone. These conditions are prevalent and treatable. Our team treats them with professionalism and compassion—your comfort and privacy are of the utmost importance.
