Artesia General Hospital Welcomes New Chief Operating Officer
Artesia General Hospital is proud to announce that Jose L. Gurrola, MHA, has joined our administrative team as Chief Operating Officer.
In his role, Jose is responsible for giving direction to strategic hospital growth, regulatory and compliance initiatives, sound financial management, medical staff and other operational projects.
Jose brings with him more than a decade of healthcare experience, having held numerous executive and operational management roles—including serving as Director of Clinic Operations at Artesia General Hospital from 2016 to 2017. Most recently, as CEO and Hospital Administrator of New Mexico Rehabilitation Center in Roswell, he successfully led the state’s specialty services for inpatient medical rehabilitation, inpatient medical detox, inpatient residential treatment and outpatient therapies.
“My passion is to help communities and citizens of New Mexico,” says Jose. “It is an honor to return to Artesia General Hospital and join a team on a mission to deliver the highest quality healthcare and patient safety to our region’s patients.”

What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, camping, playing piano and performing music.
