Celebrating Our Team Members
At Artesia General Hospital, we take great pride in the accomplishments of our dedicated team members. Their commitment to professional growth drives our continued ability to provide quality, compassionate care. Today, we are thrilled to celebrate the recent achievements of three outstanding employees who have gone above and beyond in their respective fields.
Congratulations to Dr. Robert Ferraro, who is now a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). A CDCES is a health professional who possesses comprehensive knowledge of and experience in diabetes prevention, prediabetes and diabetes management. The CDCES educates, supports, and advocates for people affected by diabetes, addressing the stages of diabetes throughout the lifespan.
Roy Thomas, Director of Radiology, has also achieved a significant milestone by recently completing his Master of Health Administration degree. Designed to be an accelerated program, the coursework is a larger class load on a shorter schedule. The requirements are 12 credit hours every 16 weeks, versus the traditional 6 credit hours every 16 weeks. Additionally, Roy was also selected to the Leadership Carlsbad program run by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. Roy credits his family with supporting him and wants to send a ‘shoutout’ to the radiology and administration teams at Artesia General Hospital.
Jose Gurrola, Chief Operating Officer, was recently selected to serve 2024-2025 AZ/NM Board of Directors for the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), the premier association for professionals who lead medical practices. Since 1926, through data, people, insights and advocacy, MGMA has empowered medical group practices to innovate and create meaningful change in healthcare. With a membership of more than 60,000 medical practice administrators, executives and leaders, MGMA represents more than 15,000 organizations of all sizes, types, structures and specialties that deliver almost half of the healthcare in the United States.
Well done to these team members!
